Thank you for reserving time for your RMV In-Branch Permit testing at AAA Northeast. A permit application must be completed prior to your permit test appointment. A permit application appointment can be made on AAA.com.
All Registry forms MUST be completed prior to your appointment. For License transactions ONLY, a pre-staging application option is available online. REAL
ID endorsements for a MA Driver’s License or MA State ID can be processed at AAA branch locations for AAA
members only, but you will need to present certain physical documents to prove
your identity. All Massachusetts members interested in obtaining a REAL ID must refer to the Massachusetts RMV website for
complete information, start their application online, and see a list of
acceptable documents that must be physically presented
during your transaction. Please note a new photo is required for Real ID

RMV services at AAA can be paid by Cash, Check, or Credit Card.
Checks must be payable to AAA.
Please note we can only assist with the RMV reason listed in your confirmation email during this visit, and we will be unable to assist with any additional transactions during your visit.
If you qualify, make a reservation for “Real ID” at the MA AAA Office of your choice, record the application form and BRING ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REAL ID TO YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Examples of services we CANNOT perform. If you need any of the below services, we cannot assist at a AAA Branch.
New licenses or State ID’s to include out of state conversions of license or ID
Conversion of a driver’s license to State ID
All CDL license transactions
Name change on Standard License, Standard State ID or Registrations. Exception; AAA can do a name change only with legal documents for Real ID endorsement on License or State ID transaction only
License or State ID renewal/duplicates/upgrades to Real ID where the applicant does not have a Social Security number in the RMV computer system
Renewal of liquor ID’s
Reinstate suspended licenses, ID’s or registrations
New vehicle registrations or new license plates for a new or used vehicle you have purchased
Converting an out of state registration to Massachusetts
Duplicate plate requests
License plate cancelations
License plate swaps (Moving plates between two vehicles you own)
Name swaps on registrations and titles
Mopeds: new registrations, duplicates, renewals, plate issuance or stickers
Transfer of existing license plates where the newly acquired vehicle is purchased from an out of state dealer
Any registration transaction for vehicles in excess of 55,000 pounds
Remove, clear or accept payment for excise tax issues, parking violations, E-ZPass violations or tickets

RMV reservations through AAA are only available for current AAA members. We cannot assist non-AAA members at this time.
RMV transactions are subject to verification from Federal Databases. These systems may experience unexpected outages that are out of AAA’s control. Transactions cannot be completed until the system is back online.
